Just as the title says...
I'm just not sure what I should be doing.

Well, if you have Blender 2.49 or any of the 2.5 series, I'd rather appreciate if you'd look into something for me. If you've taken a shop class at all, then you've probably done a wood car project. I did a CO2 race car, but I'm not sure if that's regional or national. Anywho, to do this car project, you had to take a wooden block and carve out the shape of your car with a band saw or other similar tool.
Could you see if one could perform a similar function with Blender?

Well, since you've accepted the dropbox invitation, you could start first by exploring through the blender projects that we've started so far. It would be good to get acquainted with them.
We need characters first. A test level wouldn't be too bad either. We also need a game engine. If you know anything about using UDK, Unity, or any other game engines, that would be useful.

You just LOVE showing me up with your cybernetic mumbo jumbo, don't you?

UDK stands for Unreal Development Kit. It is an immensly popular first-person shooter game engine. Even though it was designed for first-person shooters, it could prove useful.

Well, I wasn't talking about the UDK stuff, but thanks anyway. Ummm, yes, I'd assume you checked dropbox?

Yes I have. I like what you've done with the Blue Typhoon so far.

Well, if you can believe it, that took me 20-30 minutes. I'm gonna need to start the other views before I can even finish the front. If you want to help, could you make a palm tree model for the BT's launch pad?

A palm tree? I remember seeing a video on how to make real-looking trees, so I guess I could give it a try.

Alright. Just keep in mind. That video's for common oaks, maples, maybe even a birch. The only difference for a palm tree's probably just the leaf shape.

Sorry I took so long to reply!
I have no experience with Blender, unfortunately. The only 3D imaging program I have any experience with is a program called Art of Illusion. I can download Blender, though. I have the page open right now. I'm just not sure which version to download...
And I don't know much about any game engines, unfortunately, but I'll try to look into it later.

I have a Windows 7 64-bit, but that's my desktop, and I won't have access to it for a while. My laptop, which is what I'm using now, is a Mac OS X. Version 10.6.7. As for Art of Illusion, the Wiki page is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_of_Illusion, if you want to check it out. I looked up a few comparisons of the two on Google made by people who have used both, and it looks like most prefer Blender. I do know Art of Illusion can be used on both Windows and Mac, but I haven't really looked into what else it can be used on or what file types it can save and open.

There's a Mac version of Blender as well. In fact, there's a whole bunch of versions, including Linux and Solaris (never heard of that one.) Just go here: www.blender.org/download/get-blender/ And scroll down a bit. You'll find two downloads for Macs; one for PowerPC and one for Intel-based (compatible with 32 and 64-bit).

Well, from what I've heard, Solaris isn't a very popular server. It's either very new, or very old, and I can't remember which, but probably the former.
