Name: Evan Aliases: hookonsonic2, H2 Availability: I am available at almost any time. I usually spend 7-8 hours on the computer daily, and I could very easily use it for this project. Personal Skills: Basic knowledge of VB.NET and VB2008. Willing to learn other languages, as long as there's no cost involved (i have no credit card or job). Willing to do voice acting for Sonic or Shadow. VERY willing to do beta testing and last-minute editing work (spell check, grammar check, bug check). Able to perform simple modeling and animating. I can also dabble in music creation, plot development, and pretty much everything else. Why do you want to become a part of our team? Sonic X is the very reason I became a hardcore Sonic fan, and I feel that it is my duty to give back to the community, as I already do on my youtube page, where I post Japanese Sonic X with English subtitles (http://www.youtube.com/hookonsonic2) I've been dying to show off my computer skills and I just love working with computers and making programs. Any additional comments or questions? I know a few words of Japanese and am willing to help with any translations. I'm no computer major (yet), but I will do whatever it takes to finish this project!

Hey dude! Glad to see you're interested in helping out. Sounds like you'll be able to help out alot with the actual game engine and such, as you're familiar with some programming languages already. Yeah, Sonic X is the reason I became a huge fan too. And like I've stated in previous threads, I feel there wasn't enough content revolving around it (SA2B was probably the closest they got) Welcome to the team, and I hope to see some good stuff from you soon Sayonara, Brian

I've got a few questions to ask you.
1. What program(s) do you use to make this game? 2. How much have you done so far (graphics, level design, UI) 3. Is the software free? 4. Is the software similar to VB? Is the general language the same? Will VB even work for this?

1. What program(s) do you use to make this game?
Autodesk Maya 2010 is what we're currently using for graphics design. As for the game engine, this has yet to be determined. Although, Twilit has some experience with Unreal III engine, so we'll have to see.
2. How much have you done so far (graphics, level design, UI)
Not a whole lot has happened in our graphics department yet. Right now our focus is the Plot field, so we can get our ideas for worlds and levels laid out. Once we finish that, we'll split off and work in the other development fields.
3. Is the software free?
This has been one of our holdbacks. Autodesk Maya 2010 is certainly not free, with a whopping $4,000-$5,000 price for the professional suite. However, my uncle will be helping me get a cheaper legit copy (as he works in the field himself) so I may be able to take care of that on my end. Another possibility is using Blender, which is a pretty good, free, and open-source 3D modelling AND game engine software suite.
4. Is the software similar to VB? Is the general language the same? Will VB even work for this?
Honestly not sure. Haven't gotten that far into things to really know what we're up against in this field. However, I'm sure there will be simliarities. Depending on what game engine we choose, VB may be applicable in it. Of course, our game engine choice will be partially determined by our previous experiences.
I personally worked with VB6 and .NET, so i know where you're coming from.

I'm attempting to download it and install it right now. I need to get Python 2.6.2, then it will work. Did you have any problems installing it?

Excellent. We could definitely use the help in the 3D department. But as of right now like i said, our main focus is the plot section, so if you want to stop by there and help out feel free to do so.
EDIT: By the way, could I get some samples of those voice clips for Sonic/Shadow? I wanna see how you sound in comparison.
