Okay, because every time I try it, it fails, and I watch the X-Men First Class preview, over and over again. Marvel, Marvel, Marvel...

Alright, I'm ready. Post on a character, that will be playable, and I'll give both type specific and character specific attributes in a new thread.

Well, the only games I can think of that had flying types would be Sonic Adventure 1 with Tails, and Sonic '06 with Silver. Here is how Tails flies around: Whenever you are airborne, press A (jump button), and you will start to ascend for a few seconds. After you are done ascending, you will descend at a slower rate than most other people. I can get videos of Sonic Adventure 1, which has tails flying around. I'll do Sonic Colors ASAP. There is also Sonic Heroes, isn't there? And you can 'fly' with Tails in the Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2: BATTLE. Or am I misunderstanding what you mean by 'flying type?' You can also look at the Sonic Riders games, though I'm not sure if that counts...

I completely forgot about Heroes. I seem to overlook that game so much. My bad.

Well, Sonic Riders does sort of exemplify the flight ability, but all Sonic characters are characterized by Speed, Fly, and Power types. They have different abilities in games, usually. Obviously, speed types are fastest, fly types can fly, and power types can break objects that other characters can't, as just a few examples. In our game, I plan to expand upon this.
PS_I haven't played much Sonic Heroes at all, though I thought it was a good game.

Oh, this old thread again. Well, I finally have a stronger basis for my idea of Shadow flying parallell off the ground by a few inches. They had him do it in Sonic Generations, so now my idea is OFFICIAL. We have to use it now.
Just watch the whole thing. You'll see him do it a lot. I think it looks quite natural and awesome on Shadow.

The game or the way Shadow boosts? I think both are epic.

I read most of the first page and according to what I read you two have described Sonic Adventure 2's Knuckles levels perfectly. I know I said we shouldn't just recreate SA2, but if Garry's mod or something can modify the levels, parts of gameplay, sounds, etc. Then we can just change Knuckles' SA2 levels for our game. Just an idea.

It would be cool if we could do so... And I agree hookonsonic2, both the game and Shadow are epic! I can't wait to get the game!!!!

Epic, fitting, and awesome as both the game and Shadow are, you can have fun when YOU try to animate it.

How can you STILL not like the idea of Shadow boosting like that? That's how he is.

It'll look more realistic if Shadow flew a lil'. It'll be easier too because we won't have to time the steps perfectly. Btw, i'm trying so hard to animate in Blender, so don't think i'm slacking off. ^^

Just don't strain yourself If you're ever having trouble, just try to make things basic and remember the basics. When you start, press A twice to make sure that you've selected everything, then press I (or Ctrl+I, i forget) and select a LocRotScale keyframe to start yourself off. Then, for everything that you want to animate, just go to the end frame, set that part of the body to the way you want it to end up as, and repeat the first step (select all, do a LocRotScale). That will allow you to animate ONE body part at a time. To do multiple ones at different speeds at the same time, you'll want to apply those LocRotScale keyframes just to the bones that are moving for a specific action. I'm sure you'll figure this stuff out along the way.

Thank you so much for the instructions. I have been doing a lot of Blender and having quite the bit of difficulty. I'll keep your stuff in mind. I was just doing Blender when I came here to see what's up. Well, i'm off to watch some more armature tutorials and try to rig a Maria model. Wish me luck! ^^ Ciao!
